How we can help (and what we can’t do)
Updated October 2026
№ 01
SCOPE
Do you provide legal advice or represent people in court?
No. We share court-recognized, Canada-focused legal information and research to help you understand issues like municipal bylaws, Charter rights, and property disputes. We’re not a law firm, we don’t represent you, and nothing on this site creates a solicitor-client relationship. If you need advice for your specific facts or court representation, we’ll encourage you to consult a licensed lawyer or legal clinic in your province.

STANDARDS
Are you “sovereign citizen” in the conspiracy-theory sense?
No. This site is explicitly court-respecting and evidence-led. We recognize the authority of Canadian courts (including Superior Courts and Courts of Appeal), and we don’t promote magic phrases, “secret accounts,” or immunity from laws. Members are bound by the Criminal Code and applicable statutes; our focus is lawful civic participation, clear documentation, and arguments that can be tested against real decisions and legislation.

BYLAW ISSUES
Can you help with a fence, noise, or “naturalized lawn” dispute?
Yes—at an informational level. We can help you frame the problem, identify what to document (notices, photos, timelines, measurements, witness notes), and find relevant sources (the exact bylaw text, council minutes, and court decisions such as Ruck v. Mississauga when applicable). We’ll also discuss practical options: compliance under protest, requesting reasons, filing appeals where available, and keeping communication respectful and on-record.

YOUR MESSAGE
What should I include when I contact you about enforcement or a ticket?
Send the basics so we can respond efficiently: your municipality, the bylaw or section number (or a photo of the notice), key dates/deadlines, what the officer said, and what outcome you want. If you have documents (orders, letters, photos), summarize them first and attach only what’s necessary. Please don’t send private third-party information you don’t have the right to share; redact names, addresses, and file numbers where appropriate.

SAFETY
Will you help me ignore bylaws or refuse to comply with authorities?
No. We don’t encourage harassment, obstruction, or unsafe confrontation. We’ll discuss lawful ways to question claimed authority—through records requests, written submissions, hearings, and court processes where available—while respecting peace officers and the rule of law. If you’re facing an urgent enforcement situation, prioritize safety, meet your deadlines, and seek qualified legal help immediately.

PRIVACY
Is my message confidential, and do you publish what I send?
We treat inquiries discreetly and only use details publicly with your explicit permission. Still, contact forms and email aren’t guaranteed to be legally privileged, and you should assume your message could be disclosed if required by law. Share only what’s necessary to ask your question, remove sensitive identifiers when possible, and keep original documents stored securely on your side.
